Chad Clevenger
Growing up in Winter
Haven, Florida, Chad spent many hours in the kitchen
with his mother and grandmother, and his love
of food began!
He started cooking professionally in his hometown
at the age of 18, and then at 21 he went off to
attend the Cordon Bleu at the Texas Culinary Academy
in Austin, Texas.
His first chef job was
the Executive Chef postition at the famed Coyote
Cafe in Santa Fe, where he worked under Celeb
Chef Mark Miller. Chad has worked with top
chefs including Bradley Borchardt, Rick Bayless,
Stephen Pyles, and Tim Love.
After working in Europe
over the summer, Chad has returned to the delight
of long time Mel's patrons with his delicate flavors
and beautifully balanced food.
